Senior IT & Logistics Manager | Hardware, MDM & Network Infrastructure | High-Growth Events Payments Platform
- Salary: Up to £65,000
- Location: West London office, two to three days a week during your three-month probation, reducing to one day a week after
A London-based point-of-sale and payments platform for live events and large multi-vendor venues, from festivals to stadiums and arenas. Around 40 people, backed by private equity and growing fast. Their edge is splitting revenue and settlement across multiple vendors trading under one roof, a site owner, bars and food traders all on the same bill, something most general POS platforms can't handle well.
As they expand internationally, they need someone to own IT infrastructure and hardware logistics end to end. Reporting to the COO, you'll own hardware sourcing, on-site network and connectivity, data security, mobile device management (MDM) and Tier-3 IT support, and build and train a pool of 25-40 on-site consultants across several countries. An outsourced hardware and IT partner handles warehousing and installs, but managing that relationship sits with you. You'll need to know the product and its IT setup well enough to answer tender questions on infrastructure and data security, and be fine with the odd call on an event weekend.
Non-Negotiables
- 5 years' experience in POS, payments, or a related live events/venue background
- Fixed-POS installation, including hardwiring, cabling, network and connectivity
- Network troubleshooting across wired, Wi-Fi and cellular failover
- Data security across a device fleet, including encryption, access control and secure wipe/imaging
- Experience managing an outsourced partner or supplier, holding them to account on performance and commercials
- Strong Excel and inventory management skills
What You'll Work With
- Mobile device management (MDM) platforms, currently moving away from Apple's native MDM towards a dedicated tool
- A dedicated stock and asset management platform
- PCI DSS (SAQ D) and Cyber Essentials compliance documentation
- Hardware rate cards, budgets and a financing facility managed jointly with Finance
- A 25-40-strong on-site consultant pool across the UK and international markets
Nice to Haves
- Exposure to payments hardware, SoftPOS or interchange/least-cost-routing concepts
- Experience scaling a hardware or field operation internationally
- Networking or security certifications (CompTIA Network /Security or equivalent)
- Experience feeding into tender or RFP responses on infrastructure and data security
Why Join / Projects
Right now this is a part-time job split across other people's time. You'd be the first person doing it full-time, at a company already running events in new international markets with no local consultant pool yet, so building one is one of the first things you'd take on. You'll report straight to the COO with real say over supplier contracts, hardware spend and tender answers on infrastructure, not just ticket triage. The IT setup, hardware and consultant pool are all still being shaped, so there's room to build it your way.
Employee Benefits
- A track record of strong annual pay progression, historically 10-20% a year
- WFH options
- Pension
