Senior Infrastructure Engineer | Azure, Terraform & Microsoft Stack | Own a Trading Platform Estate
- £120k circa Bonus (up to 100%)
- London (Moorgate / Liverpool Street) – Hybrid (4 days onsite)
Our client, an algorithmic trading Hedge Fund are looking for a senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT team of 2 people reporting to the head of IT. The firm’s total headcount is 20 people, half of whom are tech staff (developers, data engineers etc) so you will be joining a very tech-savvy hedge fund where all trades are executed programmatically. This is a firm that has been trading for over 25yrs and have an unrivalled reputation in a very specific niche!
Your role will be split roughly into two halves:
- 50% Managing and evolving a multi-region Azure platform that supports live trading proprietary systems
- 50% Oversee the internal corporate Microsoft environment (AD, M365, end-user infrastructure)
You will take ownership of a cloud-first infrastructure estate, where technology directly drives revenue.
This is a broad, hands-on role spanning Azure platform engineering, corporate IT, and infrastructure modernisation. You will operate across both production trading systems and internal IT, balancing reliability, security, and continuous improvement.
You’ll be part of a two-person IT team, meaning real ownership, autonomy, and the expectation that you build, improve, and automate, not just maintain.
What They’re Looking For (Non-Negotiables)
- Azure infrastructure (IaaS environment with circa 100 servers)
- Terraform (production experience building infrastructure as code)
- Azure DevOps (ADO)
- Windows Server
- Active Directory, Group Policy
- Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- Backup & disaster recovery ownership and testing
- Security best practices (patching, access control, hardening)
- Comfortable supporting end-user environments when required

Projects
- Reworking the Terraform estate to improve structure and scalability
- Hardening servers and tightening security across the environment
- Migrating file systems from DFS to SharePoint
- Evolving towards containerised workloads (Kubernetes)
- Continuing to build a resilient, multi-region trading platform with failover across Azure and private cloud
