Senior Infrastructure Engineer | Networking & Google Workspace | Newly Standalone Consumer Platform Used by Millions
- Salary: £75,000 - £80,000
- Location: Hybrid, 3 days a week in the office (Central London). Must be based within reasonable reach of London, with on-site cover required if the network goes down
- Networking background essential, this is not a generalist sysadmin role
There's a stack of end of life networking kit sitting at the centre of this business, and replacing it properly is the job. The company split away from a much larger group a couple of weeks ago to become its own standalone entity, a consumer platform used by millions of people every month and backed by private equity, and building its own infrastructure function from scratch means someone needs to own the physical network end to end rather than patch around it.
You'd be joining as a senior infrastructure engineer across a roughly 500 to 750 person business based mostly out of one London office, with responsibility for enterprise networking (Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba switches and access points managed through Aruba Central) alongside identity and endpoint management through Entra ID, Google Workspace and Intune. There's a real automation remit too: this team wants n8n used properly, not just dabbled with, to cut manual work out of provisioning and lifecycle management.
What They're Looking For: (Non-Negotiables)
- Palo Alto firewalls - setup and migration experience
- Aruba Central - switches and access points at fleet scale
- Google Workspace administration
- Entra ID (Azure AD) - identity and access management
- Microsoft Intune
- 6-7 years' infrastructure/networking experience
- Based in or near London, able to get on-site if the network goes down
What You'll Work With:
- Freshservice (ITSM)
- Apple Business Manager
- macOS and Windows fleet management
- Linux (foundational level)
- Slack, Zoom, Jira
Nice to Haves:
- Aruba on-premise Cloud Services Controller experience
- n8n or similar automation tooling, used at production scale
- Experience working across multiple business units sharing one infrastructure
Why Join / Projects:
This isn't a network quietly sitting in the background, it's actively being rebuilt. You'll lead the Palo Alto and Aruba migration end to end, then become the tier-3 escalation point and technical authority across the wider platform, mentoring engineers below you and shaping the roadmap while it's still being defined. It's a small, tight-knit team that socialises properly outside of work too, quarterly activity days that have included F1 simulator racing and clay pigeon shooting, and a hiring manager who wants automation-first thinking, not someone content to firefight.
Employee Benefits:
- Bonus paid in April, based on business performance
- Free breakfast daily
- Early finish (4pm) June to September
- Extra 3 days off at Christmas, plus half day Christmas Eve
- Full benefits package available on request
This one's moving quickly, so drop me a line if it sounds like your kind of environment.
