Our client is a global, regulated, digital asset and crypto exchange company in London. They are a pioneering force in this space as the first-ever firm to receive FCA regulation in the digital security space.
The company has a total of 80 employees, their services are designed for institutional investors to trade in all types of digital assets, including cryptocurrencies, NFTs, digital securities, and traditional financial instruments.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will provide a senior technology support function and ongoing project-based engineering work across the technology estate, including desktops, servers, networking, public cloud and applications, both off-the-shelf and bespoke.
This is an on-site role; you would be expected to be onsite in our client's prestigious office in London 5 days a week.
What You Will Do:
- Manage operating environments such as Windows, Linux, and Mac OS.
- Provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support across the organisation, both in-office and globally.
- Manage business systems like order management systems, risk management systems, etc.
- Administer Office365, and MySQL/PostgreSQL databases, and implement patch management for workstations and servers.
- Utilise scripting and automation tools like PowerShell/Bash to optimise processes.
- Troubleshoot and implement Single Sign-On (SSO) technologies such as OAuth, OIDC, and SAML.
- Manage networking infrastructure, including CCNA-level networking and Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Set up and manage Intune/JAMF MDM and Microsoft XDR platforms.
- Use monitoring tools like PRTG, Grafana, OpenSearch, and Prometheus for system oversight.
- Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior staff members as needed.
What You Will Bring:
- 5 years of hands-on experience as a Technical Support Engineer or Application Support Analyst.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Expertise in administering Windows, Linux, and Mac OS environments.
- Networking skills equivalent to CCNA certification, with experience managing Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Experience with Office365 platform management and MySQL/PostgreSQL database administration.
- Experience automating tasks using PowerShell or Bash scripting.
- Proven ability to provide exceptional multi-level support (1st/2nd/3rd line).
- Experience with Intune/JAMF MDM, Microsoft XDR platforms, Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket Cloud administration.
- Proficient in implementing and managing patch management systems, SSO technologies, and monitoring tools.
- Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure (certifications preferred).
- Experience with Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 Certifications.
- Relevant industry qualifications or a degree in a related field.
