For success in this role, it will be ESSENTIAL that you have experience with software that is utilised in the Life Sciences / BioTech / Pharma industries. If you do not have experience in this industry then this will not be the right role for you.

 

Our client is a Software House based in London that specialises in developing Software as a Service (SaaS) products specifically for life science laboratories. They are currently seeking a Software Product Marketer to join their growing organisation. The company has around 160 employees and has locations all over the world. However, your main responsibility will be to work with sales staff in the UK and USA.

 

You will be reporting to the VP of Global Marketing, who is based in the USA. You will be working closely with her, so you must be available to work from 12pm to 8pm UK time for a minimum of three days per week.

 

Our client understands that due to the remote working situation of their key stakeholders, particularly the sales teams in the USA and UK, it may be possible for you to work remotely in your role, as long as you can attend the monthly company meetings in London. The office is located on a lively and trendy street, just a short walk from London Bridge, SE1.

 

You will be responsible for knowing our client's software applications in-side-out and then looking for opportunities to market/cross-sell the applications to our client's existing customers and new prospects globally.

 

You will be a link between the sales and marketing teams and the software product itself. A bit of a 'middleman' between the following teams:

  • Sales Managers and their teams
  • Marketing managers
  • Product Manager
  • The end customers

 

Whilst you will be working on our client's core application it will also be expected that you will be able to adapt to work on other new applications and features that are released. You will be responsible for pushing out these new features to customers and crucially looking for avenues to promote and market the application products to new and existing customers, looking for cross-sales and marketing opportunities. It will also be your responsibility to identify new features that will be useful and relay this back to product development.

 

It's essential that you have worked on software products/applications in the past and had your specialism around that. The background you come from can be varied as long as you have been a 'super user' of software applications relating to Life Science, Biotech or Pharma. It may be possible for you to have come from different backgrounds including:

  • Software Product Specialist
  • Software Product Marketing
  • Solutions Engineering
  • Software Sales
  • Client Services / Account Management in Software
  • Customer Success

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Software Product Positioning, Messaging, and Content Development: This involves articulating benefits and features in a way that resonates with the target audience. Create and manage engaging content across various channels, including blogs, white papers, and social media posts, that educates, informs, and compels prospects to act.
  2. Customer Insights and Demand Generation: Gather industry feedback through customers, conferences, surveys, focus groups, and usability testing to gain insights into software usage and satisfaction. Use this information to refine solution messaging and inform future product development. Develop and implement strategies, including promotions and marketing campaigns, to drive demand.
  3. Market Research and Trend Analysis: Conduct thorough research to understand the target market, customer needs, pain points, and the competitive landscape, developing effective marketing strategies and positioning. Stay updated with industry trends and market conditions to anticipate changes that may impact sales success, proactively adjusting marketing strategies and product development plans.
  4. Product Launches and Go-to-Market Strategy: Lead the planning and execution of product launch activities to generate excitement and interest among prospects and customers. Stay appraised of launch timelines and work closely with other marketing functions to plan and execute go-to-market launch strategies.
  5. Sales Enablement: This includes presentation decks, competitive battle cards, datasheets, case studies, and FAQs that highlight unique value propositions

 

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical product marketing experience in a life-sciences-related field
  • 3 years experience with life sciences products or applications
  • Project management skills with a high level of attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong technical acumen with a good understanding of laboratory processes and regulatory requirements in the life sciences sector
  • Proven track record of crafting and implementing successful software product marketing strategies
  • Robust analytical skills and a data-driven approach to marketing decision-making
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication
  • Fluency with PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Previous experience with marketing SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions is preferred
  • Previous experience in HubSpot and Salesforce is preferred
