Lead DevOps Engineer | Azure | FTSE 100 Finance
Are you a Lead DevOps Engineer with great communication and people skills who also likes to remain technically hands-on? Well look no further, I have a fantastic opportunity with a global FTSE 100 finance business.
You will be responsible for the cloud platform, from the initial design phase through to the development of the platform. You will need to be an expert in deploying cloud infrastructure through automation using code.
Solid CI/CD comes into play, teamed with good configuration management. If you have a good grasp on security from a DevSecOps standpoint this will make you stand out from the competition as you optimise the governance processes ensuring that deployed services meet quality and security benchmarks.
As well as having the technical skills to thrive in this role, previous mentoring or management of a small team would be highly attractive as you will be responsible for a small team of 2 engineers, steering from the front, also working closely with the SRE and support teams, sharing best practices, and acting as an SME to the wider IT team.

- Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of Bamboo and Bitbucket would be a bonus
- The ability to set up and administer monitoring tools, for example, Dynatrace would be an advantage
This is a hybrid remote role, initially working 3 days per week in the client's Colchester office and subsequently 2 days once the probation period has passed. There is onsite car parking as well as 2 other nearby car parks to the office and two train stations within a 15-minute walk.
