IT Support Engineer | Windows, Backups, and Networking | Work Hand in Hand with Head of IT

As an IT Support Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in supporting both internal teams and clients, providing exceptional service and technical expertise, both remotely and on-site. You will work closely with the Head of IT, offering strategic input and exploring new technologies to enhance the IT function. - Location: the role is based across Central London offices, with your main hub located at Lower Thames Street. While the position is primarily office-based (5 days a week), my client is open to occasional remote working as needed.
What you will do:
- Monitor and manage internal email and web services (Office 365) for both staff and web traffic.
- Perform daily system backups to ensure data integrity and security.
- Provide on-demand support to staff for IT issues, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
- Conduct site visits for installations, repairs, and technical support.
- Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of meeting rooms and AV systems.
- Assist in the setup and management of new infrastructure projects.
- Liaise with MSPs and contractors to maintain optimal IT performance.
- Continuously assess system performance, recommending upgrades and improvements to increase efficiency.
What you will Bring:
- 2nd Line Support Experience: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- System Backup Expertise: Strong knowledge of backing up systems and maintaining data security.
- Proactive Approach: A can-do attitude with a commitment to going the extra mile.
- Networking Proficiency: Solid understanding of networking, including LAN/WAN, VLAN setups, and IP subnets.
- Windows OS & Office 365 Experience: Configuration, troubleshooting, and support experience.
- Active Directory & Group Policy Experience: Familiarity with these essential systems.
Nice to have:
- Exposure to Azure Cloud solutions.
- Experience with Office 365 SharePoint and Dynamics.
- Familiarity with the Meraki Cloud Platform.
