Data Engineer | SQL, Python, Backend Development | FinTech Software Company
Our client is looking for a Data Engineer to join a top-tier, well-established FinTech firm specialising in SaaS products that deliver real-time market data and pricing, comparable with industry giants like Bloomberg and Reuters. They have more than 600 employees across global locations in the UK, US, China, India, Singapore, Brazil, Belgium, Finland and beyond.
You’ll be joining a newly formed Carbon Division and playing a major role in developing their digital analytics application. You will work closely with the Data and Software Development Team to design, develop and maintain both the backend infrastructure and data pipelines that support their platform.
Key skills:
- Experience building data pipelines and backend development using Python, Java or Node.js
- Experience with SQL and database systems
- Proficiency in Dagster or a similar data pipeline management tool
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of RESTful API development and database optimization
- Experience with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus
Other bits you’ll do:
- Building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes, with knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and data analytics
- Optimise the data storage and retrieval processes for performance and scalability
- Integrate and manage data from various sources (databases, APIs, event streams)
- Create efficient data models and schemas to support analytics and operations
- Develop RESTful APIs to expose data and functionality to frontend applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts and UX/UI designers
- Troubleshoot and optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability
