Cloud and Platform Solutions Architect | Azure and DevOps | FinTech
I am on the search for a seasoned Cloud Solutions Architect with extensive experience in Azure environments and DevOps tooling to join one of our financial exchange clients. With the successful completion of an initial migration to Azure, our client is about to embark on the next phase of the enhancement of their IT service estate. The focus would be the modernisation of existing services to become cloud-native and the building of new services using cloud-first principles in a more 'modern' Azure and Cloudflare environment.
Our client has been an established brand within the FX sector in Financial Services and, more recently, moving into the FinTech market. With offices across the world, they are a truly global and recognised brand in the financial sphere. As a globally expanding business, their footprint covers UK & Ireland, Europe, the USA, Canada, and Hong Kong.
This role would be a hybrid working arrangement with 3 days a week required in the office in London.
As a Cloud and Platform Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for a team of 20, including Managers and Senior Engineers within your team.
Other responsibilities include:
- Being a technical authority in a Cloud and Platform team, you will contribute towards the strategic goal of building a secure, robust and scalable cloud-native architecture for a global banking entity.
- Providing cross-functional feature teams with the ability to provision, deploy, scale and manage their systems.
- Collaborate closely with Platform Engineering teams to ensure the platform architectures lower down can be leveraged into an effective product for the feature teams.
- Collaborate with product feature teams to understand their needs and meet them through platform features.
- Working with Developers, Network Engineers, QAs, DBAs and InfoSec in sprints to extend and refine platform features, improve performance and enable autonomy.
- Coaching and mentoring engineers and Engineering Managers.
Requirements:
- Broad cross-platform technology background.
- 10 years of relevant experience as a Solutions or Cloud Architect.
- Customer and product focused; know what we deliver affects end-users; an evangelist and advocate of a 'DevOps' culture and working practices.
- Have strong previous leadership experience.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure/provisioning (IAC) - Azure (preferred/AWS & Terraform).
